DRACULA

Once known as Vlad Tepes, he is now known as Dracula Lord of the Vampires. Dracula's origin dates back five hundred years to when he was ruler of Transylvania. He would defend his land time and time again against invaders. He was later turned into a vampire.

Dracula battled with Quincy Harker and his band of vampire hunters time and time again.

The king of all vampires has had many foes. Blade, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer. Other times, the vampire lord faced men just as evil Dr. Sun, vampire rival Torgo, or the satanic Anton Lupeski. Dracula even battled his own daughter Lilith and once even Satan himself.

Given Dracula's propensity for survival, it remains to be seen whether the vampire lord will ever truly be slain.

BLADE

Blade's mother was undergoing complications during labor and her friends summoned a doctor to help. The doctor turned out to be Deacon Frost. He bit Blade's mother right before Blade's birth which resulted in Blade being immune to vampire bites. As a result of Frost's attack, Blade's mother died but not before she gave birth to Blade. Blade was raised by his mother's work associates until he was 9 years old. At age 9, Blade helped save the life of vampire hunter Jamal Afari, a musician who took Blade in and raised him as his son. Afari trained Blade as a vampire hunter as well as a trumpet player until Dracula turned Afari. Blade was forced to kill Afari and swore revenge on Dracula.

Blade traveled the world to revenge himself against Dracula and Deacon Frost.

Over time, Blade met up with Quincy Harker and his band of vampire hunters. Blade felt that Harker and his band were soft. Nonetheless, Blade eventually himself allied with Harker. at times as his search for Deacon Frost often was sidetracked by his battles with Dracula.

Blade's search for Deacon Frost led to Blade teaming up with the vampire detective Hannibal King. King was a former detective who was also turned by Frost.

Blade very reluctantly teamed with King, and at times, it seemed as if Blade might try to kill King. However, their partnership grew stronger and they became a cohesive unit, both saving each other a few times.

They finally found Frost and a battle ensued where Frost died in an explosion.

HANNIBAL KING

Hannibal King was a private investigator making a meager living and waiting for a case that would make his reputation when he was killed by a vampire named Deacon Frost. King's corpse lay in a morgue for three days and then he rose as a vampire. Horrified at what he had become, the strong-willed King refused to give in to his vampiric curse. Although he now needed to take the blood of others to survive, King never drained blood from any living being. Instead, he would buy supplies of blood and, if necessary, steal supplies of blood or even drain blood from corpses he found. King preferred not to use his vampiric powers, since he believed doing so was giving in to the curse. He continued to work as a private investigator, although now, due to his vampiric limitations, he could only travel freely at night.

King spent nearly five years as a vampire. During this time he clashed with the vampire lord Dracula, whom he refused to acknowledge as his master. Eventually, King joined forces with the vampire hunter Blade, and together they tracked down and destroyed Deacon Frost. At first Blade distrusted King, but as they worked together, King gained Blade's respect and friendship.

QUINCY HARKER

Quincy Harker was the son of Jonathan and Mina Harker, who played major roles, in the conflict between the vampire hunter Abraham van Helsing and Dracula that was chronicled in Bram Stoker's celebrated book Dracula. Jonathan and Mina were married, after van Helsing put a temporary end to Dracula's existence, and the Harkers named their son Quincy after their American friend who had helped in defeating Dracula.

Quincy Harker became Abraham van Helsing's successor as Dracula's greatest foe. Harker created an organization of vampire hunters that helped him drive Dracula from London, Dracula traveled across the world in search of victims, but Harker sent his agents in pursuit of him. Harker financed his operations through successful investments. He and his men
destroyed a considerable number of vampires.

RACHEL VAN HELSING

After witnessing Dracula murder her parents, Rachel developed an obsessive interest in hunting down the Lord of the Vampires. Raised by vampire hunter Quincy Harker, Rachel spent much of her young adulthood in extreme peril as they raced around the world in pursuit of Dracula. In this they were joined by Frank Drake, a descendent of Dracula. Harker was killed in an abortive attempt to off Dracula once and for all. Rachel, fearing she was losing her humanity, broke up with Drake and gave up the hunt--only to have Dracula track her down and turn her into a vampire. Rachel "lived" (so to speak) as Dracula's consort until he tried to recruit Storm. The X-Men rescued Storm, and Rachel shook off her brainwashing long enough to impale Dracula. Not wishing to remain a vampire, Rachel asked to be killed. Wolverine, saying killing was his job, was of course happy to grant her request.

TAJ NITAL

Taj Nital was an Indian villager whose village was attacked by Dracula and other vampires. They crippled his wife and turned his son into a vampire. After the attack Taj joined Rachel Van Helsing in hunting down Dracula. For several years Taj served as Van Helsing's bodyguard and the strongman for Quincy Harker's band of vampire hunters.

FRANK DRAKE

Frank Drake has the honor of being Dracula's only living mortal descendant. In Dracula's castle in Transylvania, his friend Clifton Graves foolishly removed a stake in Dracula's chest, ending decades of paralysis. A battle ensued and Drake escaped with his life, and quickly became a Hunter, and allied himself with Quincy Harker, and Rachel Van Helsing (Abraham's descendant). He was the driving force behind the formation of BorderlineInvestigations with Blade and King, and used his millions to bankroll the trio.
